Too Much Talk (Too Little Drinkin’)

from Brewed Gold by Marty Jones

/

about

I wrote and performed this many years back in Norfolk, VA, then brought it to Denver and added it to the PBPBS repertoire. A top-shelf tub thumper and frequent set closer or encore number for many years in every hillbilly-ish band I've ever fronted. After ending an outdoor set opening for the great Mojo NIxon, he stopped me as I left the stage and said this to me: "Damn. Y'all play the real hillbilly shit and I liked it. And I don't like nothin.'" Big career highlight. Thanks, Mojo! From the debut CD by Marty Jones & the Pork Boilin' Poor Boys.
